I really liked DAOC until it became obvious they were going to force me into Realm vs Realm at some point. Personally, I have no desire for anything other than Player vs Environment, have they made any changes towards PVE?

Since everyone quit, they've come out with several expansions.
Shrouded Isles was the first. If you remember the classic game and the number of zones, SI doubled that as well as introduce a couple of new classes and a new race. They also introduced portals that helped to cut down time spent on horses. All PvE.
New Frontiers and Player Housing were next. Both are free downloads. NF deals re-did all of the PvP zones and overhauled the whole PvP system (keeps, siege equipment, etc). But it doesn't sound like you're interested in that  PH is just that - a system where players and/or guilds can buy houses. We have one (I'm trying to post a map) and it's very handy (due to in-home portals and shared vaults). Also, somewhere along this time frame they introduced the Dragon - a very high level mob that you need several full groups to kill. NF is all PvP. PH is, well...housing.
Trials of Atlantis was next. This is purely PvE. It introduced 9 (I think) trials that when each one is complete, you get to choose a special ability - some are passive and some are active. They also introdeced Artifacts. An artifact is a piece of equipment. You have to get credit for killing the artifact mob, you have to get the artifact and you also have to find (3) scrolls that tell the story of the artifact. Once you have the (3) scrolls, you put them together to form a book. Give the book to an Loremaster (NPC) along with the artifact and he activates it for you. Now you have to level your artifact (the same as leveling your character but faster). Each level (up to 10) opens an new ability. ToA is mostly underwater...so that opened up a 3-D aspect of the game. Mostly PvE.
Catacombs was next (and is really cool). It opens up several zones that are underground. There is a mine system and an expanded portal system that makes it easy to travel across the realm. Cat also introduced Instance Dungeons - once your group is in, you are the only ones there - no fighting for pulls. Mostly PvE.
I guess I'm tring to say there is plenty of PvE. If people are looking for high-end PvE, ToA has plenty of that. If people want PvP, there is plenty of that too (and when you take a Frontier Keep, you can have all of the guard wear your guild symbol).
I'm not trying to talk anyone into it, but I think it's may be worth your while for another look. I think everyone left before the game got good (my opinion)

Again I must say...I was right!
As the LAST DoA'er to leave the game I must say how much I enjoyed that game. Smeg I know you hung around for a long time too. I remember that was the first time I met you.
Even I left before some of these latest expansions and they sound pretty fun. Glad to hear yall are having fun in there again. I wish these game designers would realize that you cant completely change a class and expect folks to keep playing (especially when the change is for the worse).
Unfortuneately I cant afford to keep 4 accounts open or Id hop back and come BG1 killin with yall! Im dying to beat the crap out of someone!!!
